Rain-free Midsummer at the Grand Hôtel

As tradition goes at the Grand Hôtel, we arrange three Midsummer’s Eve lunch seatings at the Veranda restaurant: noon, 1.30pm and 3.30pm. And in true Midsummer fashion, we decorate the tables with maypoles and Swedish flags. To enjoy Midsummer lunch to the fullest, one should savour fare from the five different stations of the smörgåsbord, a custom we bore in mind when creating our dishes. At the Grand Hôtel, our very own 1874 snaps is also a given part of the Midsummer feast.

“Spending Midsummer’s Eve with us is quite special. We celebrate it according to tradition. Enjoying it indoors at the Grand Hôtel rather than sitting outdoors and worrying about the weather truly is a great feeling. At the Grand Hôtel it never rains on Midsummer’s Eve,” says Karl Persson, restaurant manager at the Veranda.
