Full bloom at the Veranda for Midsummer

Grand Hôtel is putting on its summer attire and paying tribute to the Swedish Midsummer with three sittings at the Veranda restaurant. Guests can enjoy a classic midsummer smörgåsbord with all imaginable dishes and trimmings, while enjoying a beautiful view of the Stockholm waterfront.

On Midsummer’s Eve, the Grand Hôtel will be offering three smorgasbord sittings, at noon, 3.30pm and 7.30pm, respectively. On this special day, the tables at the Veranda restaurant will be adorned with miniature Midsummer maypoles, along with Swedish flags and festive flower arrangements. Our Midsummer smörgåsbord is based on the old Swedish tradition that guests eat five different plates of food – consisting of sill, a variety of cold dishes, followed by an array of hot dishes, cheese and dessert. A must-have on the Grand Hôtel’s Midsummer smörgåsbord is our very own 1874 snaps.

Midsummer at the Grand Hôtel is a very popular tradition and our three sittings are in great demand. We believe that our guests enjoy getting together over good food without having to put in the time it takes to prepare the many different dishes that make up a Midsummer celebration,” says Pia Djupmark, CEO, Grand Hôtel
